The objects for which the Association of Climate Action Network Eastern Africa (A-CAN-EA) is registered are: – Objectives of A-CAN-EA:
The objectives of A-CAN-EA are:
- To
prevent dangerous climate change through awareness and capacity building of
governments and citizens within the Eastern
Africa region.
- To
protect local, National, regional and global climate from dangerous human interference.
- To
promote the protection of local, National, regional and global
climate from dangerous human interference;
- To promote wise and sustainable
use of natural resources and sustainable national development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their
own needs.
- To initiate and
facilitate dialogue over natural resource management conflicts in Uganda
- To
inspire government, business, community, and individual action to this effect.
- To
develop an objective understanding of climate
change and its causes, and share this information with all people, especially
all members.
- To organize,
support, inspire and coordinate its members to take effective action
on climate change,
as a region.
- To cause the realization
for the need to respect nature in its own right
- To enhance and protect
citizens’ rights, freedoms and the sharing of common benefits from sustainable
environmental management.
- To carryout research on
environment and sustainable development.
- To work closely with
local, national and international associations, societies or agencies on
matters of Climate Change and the environment.
